RLHS Presents Just Another High School Play

The Racine Lutheran High School Theater Department will present the Bryan Starchman comedy, Just Another High School Play. The performance dates are Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m.

The comedy covers nearly every angle of the typical high school play with a dose of history and improvisation thrown in for good measure.

A group of high school actors, who apparently have been abandoned by their drama teacher, have to fend for themselves opening night in front of an impatient audience. Their teacher has left them hanging because no one has been showing up to rehearsals, and no one is really quite sure what he or she is supposed to do.

The student assistant director (Bradley Bosak) and the stage manager (Jake Lightner) step in, find a box of scripts which they pass out to the cast, and try to throw something together. What follows is a rollicking show full of physical comedy, crazy props, gags, and satirical re-writings of many plays, such as Hamlet, melodramas, Little Women, A Christmas Carol, Our Town, Romeo and Juliet, and many more. Other cast members include Brianna Jaramillo, Anna Janke, Jake Tietyen, Ben Young, Kiersten Reynoso, Jesenya Vasquez-Marquez, Jill Rosborough, Christian Brill, Connor Petricek, Noah Kidd, Ben Jung, Hannah Mains, Hailey Vaughn, Hilarie Nigro, Emma Montgomery, and Brandon Dexter.

Tickets are available at the door: $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens (55+) and high school students, and middle school and grade school students are admitted free. Advance-purchase tickets can be reserved by calling the school at 637-6538. The school is located at 251 Luedtke Avenue, off Spring Street in Racine.
