RLHS VOLUNTEER/FAMILY SERVICE HOURS
The RLHS HARVEST FAIR is coming Saturday, November 1, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m! What is it?
HANDICRAFTS NEEDED for the HARVEST FAIR: Do you have handmade crafts to donate? Needlecrafts, wood work, deco, art, really any special craft items you (or a friend) have created would be an appreciated addition to the RLHS Harvest Fair crafts booth. Drop off at school by November 1st.
What is Harvest Fair?
For those who have never experienced it, the Harvest Fair has been a Lutheran High tradition for more than 70 years. Held on the first Saturday of November, the Fair features 30-40 tables and booths selling fresh produce, crafts, homemade food, bakery, antiques and collectibles, unique gifts, holiday decor, plants, jewelry, household items, needlework, books, purses, personal care items, and so much more. There is a delicious array of homemade salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts served at the snack bar or in the cafeteria.
Who does this?
The Fair is organized by a group of volunteers and the RLHS Ladies Guild, but the manpower is provided by dozens of volunteer parents, alumni, students, grandparents, staff, and other supporters of our school.
We need YOU! How can I help?
- Donate any of the items listed above. Drop off at school from now to 10/31. See donations needed at 2025-Needs-Letter-to-Parents.pdf.
- Many volunteers are needed on November 1 to work in all the different areas.
- Yard signs need to be put up.
- NOW — we need homemade canned goods like pickles and jam for our harvest booth. Do you know anyone who does canning who could make extra to donate? Any amount is welcome! We also are looking for fresh pickling cucumbers, beets, etc and have volunteers ready to can them.
- BAKERY — We are asking every parent/family to donate bakery for the Fair! The bakery booth is very popular and depends entirely on items donated by our RLHS family. Cookies, bars, breads, muffins, rolls, snacks, candy, or whatever is your specialty. Bring to school 10/31 or 11/1 morning.
- More VENDORS welcome!
- Come to the fair, encourage friends, and enjoy!
- Contact Krista at RLHS or email klong@racinelutheran.org to help or to ask for details.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – GREAT WAY TO GET SERVICE HOURS! There are a variety of areas and time slots where you can help. Sign-up easily here: 2025 RLHS Harvest Fair Volunteers — Signup Sheet | SignUp.com.
You can also direct people to our website – details, vendor forms, and volunteer sign-ups can be found here: a class=”fw-bold” style=”color: #6e008c;” href=”https://www.racinelutheran.org/harvest-fair/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>https://www.racinelutheran.org/harvest-fair/.
Every family is expected to volunteer at least 20 hours of service each school year (July 1-June 30) to directly benefit RLHS. PLEASE NOTE- RLHS student responsibilities, commitments, and expectations that are part of a sport or club (NHS, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, team events) do not count toward the 20 RLHS service hours.
Thrift Shop Service Hours
We ask that six of those hours are spent volunteering at our Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and is looking for help during morning shifts (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and afternoon shifts (1 p.m.- 4 p.m.). Students, parents, grandparents, and friends of RLHS are needed to sort, clean, price and display merchandise and work in the store. One adult and one student, or two adults, are needed for each shift. SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS ARE ESPECIALLY NEEDED!
Schedule Service Hours with the Thrift Shop at 1222 Lathrop Ave.
To sort, clean, price and/or help with incoming donations – call Pat Hellenberg 262.498.8851. To help with checkout/cashier – call Barb Tertel 262.632.1070.
Schedule Service Hours with MORE Thrift Shop at 1228 Lathrop Ave.
Call Peggy Groth 262.498.2161 or Judy Lamers 262.321.4095.
Service Hours Bonuses
Once your family completes 20 hours, your student will receive a gift certificate for a free lunch at RLHS! Additionally, at the end of the school year, the three families with the most volunteer hours will be awarded a $50 credit to their RLHS school account, which can be applied toward various expenses such as lunch balance, athletic fee, yearbook, parking pass, and more!

*Digital Ticketing – We will be using GoFan which is linked with the WIAA. All Tickets for Fall Events for Football and Volleyball are ready to be purchased. To Purchase a ticket, you can download the GoFan App on your phone, create an account, and then search for Racine Lutheran. You can purchase individual games or you can purchase a pass. We have two different pass options available. A pass just for the Fall Sports Events or a Pass for the Entire School Year. With each pass, you can purchase an Individual, Family of 2, or a Family of 4 pass. All passes are good for our Home Athletic Events Only. With Digital Ticketing, we will be joining Dominican, Martin Luther, and St. Thomas More using GoFan. One nice feature of GoFan is that our competitions against these schools will appear on our site, even if the games are played at their school. Shoreland Lutheran and Racine St. Catherine’s are still currently using Hometown Ticketing. Kenosha St. Joe’s and The Prairie School are still using cash admission. For our students, they will show their student ID for admission to a game. They do not need to purchase a ticket. Student ID’s are also starting to be required by other schools, so students please keep your Student ID on you when attending Athletic Events. For anyone with a Conference Pass, Future Crusader Pass, or an Adult Crusader Pass, you will just show your pass at the door also. Anyone else with you will need a ticket unless the pass is good for more than one person.
*Just a reminder, Athletes must be in school all day to practice or participate in games. Exceptions for school-sponsored field trips, college visits, funerals, doctor’s appointments, etc. may be granted by the Athletic Director. In the case of a doctor’s appointment, a signed release by the doctor may be required.
Vaping and smoking at high school events are always prohibited.
*Game schedules are on the online school calendar which can be found here. Or click on the “Calendar” link on the school website. You may also sign up for notifications from the calendar site which will alert you to upcoming contests and schedule changes. Coaches contact information is also found on the calendar site.
