As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child is equipped with a coat and appropriate warm clothing, especially if it is necessary for them to wait outside. A reminder that the doors to school open at 7:00am with the only exceptions made when there is rain or bitterly cold weather.
Children’s Hospital is requesting our help for research participants related to child development and behavioral/mental health. Please see the attached flyer if you would like to participate.

If you have a current RLHS student and an incoming 8th grader for the 2026–2027 school year but were unable to attend our Fall Open House, please have your student stop by Mrs. Fox’s office in Admissions to pick up an enrollment folder to bring home.
Our next Open House will be held on Wednesday, January 14, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
We also invite you to share this Open House information with friends and families who may be interested in joining our Crusader community—thank you for helping us spread the word!
SENIORS
Attention seniors and parents!!! Herff Jones is our provider for all things graduation. If you or your senior would like to purchase senior (Class of 26) apparel whether it is clothing or jewelry, Herff Jones has you covered. Below is the link to shop and purchase whatever you want. On a side note, DO NOT ORDER CAPS AND GOWNS. YOUR SENIOR WILL BE MEASURED IN SCHOOL AND WE WILL ORDER THE CAP AND GOWN.

RLHS VOLUNTEER/FAMILY SERVICE HOURS

A Huge thank you to all of our students, families and friends who volunteered their time to make our Harvest Fair the success that it was. We could not do this without you and we really appreciate every single one of you!
Every family is expected to volunteer at least 20 hours of service each school year (July 1-June 30) to directly benefit RLHS. PLEASE NOTE- RLHS student responsibilities, commitments, and expectations that are part of a sport or club (NHS, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, team events) do not count toward the 20 RLHS service hours.

2026 Grand Gala ~ LOVE in ACTION!
Here’s another chance to get involved! The Grand Gala is the largest fundraiser of the year. It includes dinner, silent and live auctions, and dancing to the music of Chicago’s High Society Orchestra. We need several volunteers during the next few months, and your hours count toward your family service hours. Parents – This is a great opportunity to volunteer with your friends – or meet new friends. If you’re interested, please join us at our first meeting next TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, at 6:30 pm, in the Cafeteria (we only meet once a month Nov, Dec. Jan).
Thrift Shop Service Hours
We ask that six of those hours are spent volunteering at our Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and is looking for help during morning shifts (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) and afternoon shifts (1 p.m.- 4 p.m.). Students, parents, grandparents, and friends of RLHS are needed to sort, clean, price and display merchandise and work in the store. One adult and one student, or two adults, are needed for each shift. SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS ARE ESPECIALLY NEEDED!

Service Hours Bonuses
Once your family completes 20 hours, your student will receive a gift certificate for a free lunch at RLHS! Additionally, at the end of the school year, the three families with the most volunteer hours will be awarded a $50 credit to their RLHS school account, which can be applied toward various expenses such as lunch balance, athletic fee, yearbook, parking pass, and more!

It is time to get ready for Winter sports! Athletes cannot begin participation in practice until students are registered for their sport. To get a registration card, all the following must be turned in to the Athletic Office:
- A physical exam is required of all student-athletes for the first and third year of high school participation. OR
- 1a An alternate year card is required of all student-athletes for the second and fourth year of high school participation.
- Sign and return the Lutheran High Athletics Agreement and the Concussion Information and Acknowledgement Form which includes the Lutheran High Athletics Policies, WIAA Policies, the Metro Classic Conference Sportsmanship guidelines, the Ascension All Saints Athletic Training Consent for Care and Treatment, and student/parent concussion information. Please read the Athletic Handbook prior to signing this form.
- Pay Participation Fee – These fees are used to offset some of the cost for transportation, officials, and equipment. The participation fee is $150 per season with a cap of $450 per year for a family. This fee does not cover the cost of hats, socks, etc.
All forms need to be turned in once per school year. These forms can be picked up at school or found online here on the school website.
AGAIN, PLAYERS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE UNTIL ALL FORMS AND FEES HAVE BEEN TURNED IN TO THE ATHLETIC OFFICE.

You may also sign up for notifications from the calendar site which will alert you to upcoming contests and schedule changes. Coaches contact information is also found on the calendar site.
