STEM Endorsement

What is it?

An endorsement is an option students have to enhance their high school diplomas and highlight knowledge and skills gained by completing specific STEM curriculum requirements.

Requirements ^

Science*

Minimum 4 credits in the following:
  • STEM Lab
  • Biology / Honors
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • AP Biology
  • Anatomy / Phys
  • Genetics
  • Microbiology

Mathematics*

Minimum 4 credits in the following:
  • Algebra I
  • Geometry
  • Algebra II
  • Precalculus
  • AP Calculus
  • Statistics

Technology*

Complete at least 2 of the following courses:
  • Information Technology
  • CAD 1, 2, 3
  • Algebra II
  • Web Design
  • Dual-credit IT or Programming
  • Statistics

    • Experience

    Minimum 4 credits in the following:
    Complete an approved cooperative experience, camp, job shadow experience, or internship in a science, mathematics, or technology related field.
    Students must earn a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in each of the STEM courses individually and overall RLHS curriculum.

    *Students are expected to take advantage of the AP or DC options in the courses where that is offered.
