In 1964, volunteers opened the first Thrift Shop to help Racine Lutheran High School keep down the cost of Christian education. Their mission – to sell donated goods at reasonable prices with exceptional customer service and all proceeds going to support RLHS. Maintaining and operating the store has been a labor of love for hundreds of volunteers donating countless hours for more than 55 years. The accomplishment has spanned generations, and the mission continues today. Donations from the Thrift Shop continue to reach out through ministry to our community. Proceeds also support the Christian character and education of RLHS students through financial support for equipment, student aid, additions, renovations, and operating expenses at RLHS. Since its inception, many volunteers have dedicated goods and services totaling more than $4 million to support our school.
Store hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Donate Goods – We accept clothing, accessories and shoes/boots for men, women and children. We also accept fabric and craft items, bedding and linens, paperback/hardcover books, and clean household goods, such as pots, pans, glassware and flatware. Electrical items, such as curling irons, toasters, frying pans, etc. are acceptable donations, if in good working order.
Furniture items such as dressers, tables, and bookcases are accepted. We do not accept large appliances, computers or computer equipment, TVs, car seats, cribs, high chairs, strollers, beds, mattresses, or upholstered furniture.
Donations are accepted during store hours; however, store workers may not be able to assist with large or heavy items.
Shop – We stock the floor daily with new merchandise. Please support our cause by shopping here first for those special treasures!
Volunteer – Students, parents, grandparents, and friends of RLHS are needed to sort and price merchandise and work in the store. Please consider setting aside a morning or afternoon each month to help our faithful Thrift Shop volunteers serve RLHS and our community.
